I was listening to Radio 4 this morning, the Chief Executive of the NHS, Mr Simon Stevens was being interviewed and among other things he mentioned that in the UK life expectancy rises by five hours every day. That's amazing! Put another way, every year we are expected to live an extra 10 weeks or so. Another 10 weeks to live, to love, to learn, to teach, to have fun, to do whatever you want. Since our general health is also improving we have the capacity to enjoy life longer and to work longer, to contribute, to give back. What will you do with your extra weeks? How will you benefit from this extra time? Being Age Positive benefits everyone.
I was reading the 260 page EU Legislative Directive again, sad I know! and at the end, thought I would share with you what was stated:
Certainly not. It is a fact that some of us are good at what we do and some recruiters are just plain inadequate at best and career devastating at worst. Typically, the only way you find out who is a superstar and who is not, is by permitting one to help manage your career without having first carried out any due diligence. The bad ones will inevitably disappoint you; they will not return your calls or reply to your emails, they will send you job opportunities which are not suitable, Cut & Paste your CV into their format and if they manage to get you a job interview, they will not be able to support you; there will be little or no interview or assessment guidance, no feedback call and then at the end of it they will claim a fee from their client for a job well-done.
1. Do I know who is responsible for cyber risks in the company? Have I met them and am I confident there is sufficient segregation between them and those making decisions about the technological direction of the company?
