While there has been some progress among workplaces, many women still struggle to make work fit with their lives. To get most of your working day you need to find ways in which you can work smarter and more effectively. You can try and group together tasks to be more productive. Try and focus on every single group separately and this way you can focus your mind on the important tasks at hand without getting distracted. And this is a solution that you can use not only at work but at home as well. Focus first on what matters don’t overload yourself.
2. Forget about perfection
As you leave work you realise that you haven’t done something as well as you could. Sometimes you need to stop and think that what you have done it might not be perfect but it is good enough. Don’t put extra pressure on yourself when you don’t need to at work and at home. Give yourself a Break!
3. Leave work in the office
Work never ends and if you are looking to finish everything you will never stop. You need to learn how to set your limits. Work -life balance is not a system of having your work and life take the same amount of hours or focus it is a way of making sure that both your work and your personal priorities are being met.
4. Don't be afraid to unplug
We live in a connected world that never sleeps. Remember that you wanted to take few days off and go on holiday? Just do it!
5. Set your own rules
It’s about understanding what is best for you, your family and your career. And the most important way to find out how you can do this is to ignore the “you should“ that often comes from other people and focus on the “I could or should” that comes from you.
Maybe you are made to work for yourself under your rules! If you are dissatisfied with your current circumstances, admit that no one can fix them but you. It doesn’t do any good to blame it on the economy, your boss or your family. Change can only occur when you make conscious decision to make it happen.
